FAMILY

I LOVE MY FAMILY.
What can I say more?
I have been so blessed to have so many whom I enjoy
and love. There are so many things in this world
that keep each of us busy and involved and too many
times we don't stop to say I love you or take the
time to show our love. But most take time
and uplift and give of themselves and I am
very thankful for that. I hope everyone has a good
New Year. I hope and pray that all those
who are struggling, will be able to endure and
remember that we love you.

2008 is winding down

We had a great Christmas celebration. though it would have been nice to see more of the kids. We had fun at the Brooks Christmas Eve celebration, and being able to visit on Christmas Day. There are too many to visit for long and enjoy, but at least we did visit 8 of the kids. We were spoiled with many presents from the family. But it's fun anyway. We love them all, children, and presents. It's already time to begin thinking about the new year. Maybe some resolutions. But I think it's better to make resolutions all through the year. Maybe it's more like repentance and shaping up.
We are looking forward to a eventful New Year. We know there is alot to be thankful for and alot to prepare for.

It's snowing!

It has been snowing here for a couple of days. Right now the palm trees outside are slowly getting loaded with snow.I don't think they can stand much. I'm just glad none of you are traveling right now. We worked at the temple grounds today. My hands were ice cold, but we cleaned and raked the flower beds in front and now it looks beautiful if I do say so myself. There was a Brooks family wedding at the same time we were raking, etc., so we got to say hello to everyone as they came to the temple. We were the gardners. We went to the luncheon out at Entrada Club House and at least got to visit with the Shurtliff family, then.
I've been receiving some cute family pictures on Christmas cards and on the internet. I've got some to send, but have been so busy, that I haven't mailed them yet.
We had our branch Christmas party on Monday Eve. That was fun. We have our Brooks party on the 24th, which will be fun, with family and all.Wish all family members could be in attendance, but I'm thankful that all is well with each as far as we know and hope.

Christmas is almost here

I can't believe that Christmas is only 11 days from now.
All the planning that I've done, is now, almost done
and preparations that are being worked on are almost finished.
Now, I've got to mail some boxes and hopefully go down to
Las Vegas to deliver some. I'm looking forward to Christmas
Eve with family, food, and entertainment and Christmas Day
when all the families open their gifts and show or call
on the phone. We went to Costco this afternoon and it was
so busy, I couldn't hardly move around, without being in
someone's way. We went to Ace Hardware to pick up a
calendar and then went and ate at Chuckarama. Now we are
home in our warm little home, away from the hustle and
bustle. The weather is changing, windy and cloudy, so
tomorrow who knows what we'll wake up to. Any way,
Christmas is almost here and I'm so thankful for family
and friends and my Savior Jesus Christ. He is the "reason
for the season".

Thanksgiving

"THANKSGIVING DAY comes, by statute,
once a year; to the honest man it comes
as frequently as the heart of gratitude will
allow."

Its Thanksgiving Time

I'm excited to have our Thanksgiving celebration this weekend. Especially because we get to be together as family.
I'm always thankful for the things we have, and I'm glad that the rest of the world will at least take time once a year, to show thanks. We are such a blessed people.

A song

Is this the little girl I carried
Is this the little boy at play
I don't remember growing older---When did they?
When did she get to be a beauty?
When did he get to be so tall?
Wasn't it yesterday when they were small?
Sunrise, sunset--sunrise, sunset ----Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze
Sunrise, sunset--sunrise, sunset----Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears.

We look at our children like this for sure. But what a blessing to have been or be a parent.
